Jamie Sutherland is the Co-Founder and CEO of Sonix, an AI-powered platform that helps organizations turn audio, video, and documents into accurate, structured, and searchable information.

Jamie co-founded Sonix with a simple idea: the enormous amount of knowledge locked inside recordings should be easier to unlock and put to work. What began as an automated transcription platform has evolved into a powerful AI workspace used by businesses, legal professionals, researchers, media organizations, and teams around the world to transcribe, translate, search, analyze, and understand their content.

Jamie has spent his career building and scaling technology businesses. Before Sonix, he founded Xero's U.S. office and helped raise $250 million in capital to scale the company to $2 billion while launching major partnerships with Google, Square, H&R Block, and ADP. Prior to Xero, he was the youngest executive at Sage, where he led one of the company's fastest-growing business units and helped propel Sage into the cloud era. He also co-founded TaxiNow, one of the first mobile taxi-hailing applications that was subsequently acquired.

Jamie holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and an MBA from York University, neither of which prepared him for starting a company.

A passion for sports led Jamie to found Maple Ventures, an investment firm focused on sports-related businesses across technology, teams, and location-based entertainment. Investments include USL soccer, Park Padel, and Cabo Real Surf Club. As AI increasingly shapes the digital world, Jamie believes the value of real-world experiences, communities, and human connection will only increase.

Jamie lives in San Francisco with his family. A lifelong competitive tennis player, he is now an avid padel player and also enjoys golf, skiing, and air guitar.
