Talk to your assistant in plain English. "Pull up my interview with Dr. Patel and summarize the takeaways." "Generate SRT captions for my latest podcast." Your AI does the rest.
Let your AI
work with your Sonix library
Talk to your media in plain English
No more copying transcript URLs or downloading files just to ask a question. Ask your AI assistant what you want — find a recording, pull a quote, summarize an interview — and it uses Sonix on your behalf.
Transcripts straight into the conversation
Bring a transcript directly into your chat context for Q&A, summarization, sentiment, entity extraction, or any other LLM-powered analysis. No copy-paste, no manual download step.
Generate exports without leaving your tool
Ask your assistant for a clean text transcript, SRT/VTT subtitles, or structured JSON. Sonix mints a short-lived download link your AI can save or pass on — files stay out of conversation context to save tokens.
Secure by default
Standard OAuth 2.1 with browser-based sign-in and approval. You see exactly which AI tool is asking for access before you authorize it, and you can revoke at any time.
Scoped, audit-able access
Each connection is bound to a single account, with read-only scope today. Only owners and producers can authorize MCP connections, so member-level users can't share account-wide data by accident.
Built on the MCP standard
MCP is an open standard backed by Anthropic, OpenAI, GitHub, and the broader AI tooling ecosystem. Connect Sonix once and your library shows up in every MCP-compatible tool — current and future.
Works with your favorite AI tools
Sonix speaks the standard MCP protocol, so any client that follows the spec can connect. Here are some of the tools we test against — and you can use our server with anything else MCP-compatible.

Frequently Asked Questions
about Sonix and MCP
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants securely connect to outside services. Think of it as a universal adapter between your AI tools and the apps you already use — like Sonix.
What can my AI assistant do with the Sonix MCP server today?
Browse your media library, pull transcripts into the conversation for analysis, generate exports (text, SRT/VTT, JSON), and check your account status. Tools for creating new transcriptions, translations, and edits are on the roadmap.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Authentication uses OAuth 2.1 — the same standard your bank or workplace SSO uses. You approve each connection in your browser, you can see exactly which tool is connecting, and you can revoke access at any time. The MCP server is also read-only today, so connected clients can't modify your data.
Which AI tools can I connect?
Any tool that speaks the MCP protocol. We test against Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, and VS Code, and our developer documentation includes copy-paste config snippets for each. New MCP clients are launching often — if it speaks MCP, it'll work with Sonix.
Does it cost extra?
No. MCP access is included with every paid Sonix subscription. Transcription usage is billed the same as it is for the web app or REST API.
Who on my team can use it?
Anyone on the account with an owner or producer role can authorize an MCP client. Member-level users can use Sonix through the web app but can't connect external AI tools. Trials and free accounts cannot connect MCP clients.
