MPE files are just the shortened version for the more common MPEG extension made by the Moving Pictures Expert Group. Videos that are encoded with the MPE file extension are using the MPEG-2 compression algorithm with progressive video formats sampling at about 1.5million bits per second. 谁会使用 MPE 文件？

MPE 与 MP4：应该选择哪一个？
MPE 是 MPEG-1/MPEG-2 节目流的较旧扩展名，而 MP4 是通常承载 H.264 或 H.265 视频与 AAC 音频的现代容器。MP4 在更低比特率下即可提供相当的质量，并被网页浏览器、手机和当前的剪辑软件原生支持，而 MPE 文件往往不被浏览器和移动设备识别，可能需要重命名为 .mpg，或使用 VLC 等多用途桌面播放器。对于任何新工作请选择 MP4；MPE 主要在处理现有旧文件时才有意义。
