In our testing of Rev’s platform, we encountered issues with the user interface’s responsiveness. Pages frequently needed to be reloaded, and there were occasional login difficulties. The most significant problem occurred when we began transcribing a 3-minute video of a Barack Obama interview. After waiting five minutes, the transcript was still “processing.” However, after refreshing the page, the transcript appeared as “Done.” While not a major issue, these delays can slow things down, especially for users working with a high volume of transcriptions.

Speaker Identification

Rev’s speaker identification feature has a lot of room for improvement. In an interview with Barack Obama and Jimmy Kimmel, the tool consistently classified both questions and answers as ‘Speaker 1,’ despite the back-and-forth nature of the conversation. This mislabeling continued throughout the transcript, making it harder to distinguish between speakers in discussions involving multiple participants.
