Sonix, een opkomende leider in spraakherkenning, vergeleek zijn spraakherkenningsengine met de grootste spelers in deze ruimte, waaronder Google, Amazon en IBM.
De resultaten zijn gemengd. Google en Sonix herkennen "Laurel". Amazon herkent "Year Old" wat dichter bij Yanny ligt. En IBM herkent zowel "Yeah role" als "Laurel" wat een mix is van Yanny en Laurel.
Voor de test gebruikte Sonix de Yanny vs. Laurel-versie die Cloe Feldman voor het eerst op Twitter plaatste.
