Sonix, der er en ny førende virksomhed inden for talegenkendelse, sammenlignede sin talegenkendelsesmotor med de største spillere på dette område, herunder Google, Amazon og IBM.
Resultaterne er blandede, idet Google og Sonix genkender "Laurel". Amazon genkender "Year Old", som er tættere på Yanny. Og IBM genkender både "Yeah role" og "Laurel", som er en blanding af Yanny og Laurel.
For at gennemføre testen brugte Sonix den version af Yanny vs. Laurel, som Cloe Feldman først offentliggjorde på Twitter.
