It\u2019s really easy to create automated subtitles and captions for your video. With automated software like Sonix, it only takes a few minutes depending on the length of your video. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll need to use Sonix<\/a> for automated transcription and Handbrake<\/a> will help you \u201cburn-in\u201d the subtitles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step-by-step instructions on how to create automated subtitles for free<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

STEP 1: Upload video to Sonix<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Upload your video to Sonix<\/a>. If you don\u2019t have a Sonix account you can create a free trial here: https:\/\/sonix.ai\/accounts\/sign_up<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEP 2: Polish \/ edit your transcript in Sonix<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sonix transcripts have a built-in editor so you can listen and watch the video and edit the text transcript simultaneously. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEP 3: Export SRT<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Click EXPORT in Sonix and then select SRT. From here you can adjust your subtitles length and number of lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEP 4: Open video file in Handbrake<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Click \u201cOpen Source\u201d inside Handbrake. If you don\u2019t have Handbrake you can download it free here: https:\/\/handbrake.fr<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEP 5: Add SRT file to Handbrake<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Go to the \u201cSubtitles\u201d tab, open the \u201cTracks\u201d dropdown menu, click \u201cAdd External SRT\u201d and select the SRT file you exported from Sonix. You can repeat this process if you have multiple subtitle tracks. Be sure to specify the SRT language for any foreign subtitle tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEP 6: Burn-in subtitles to your video<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Check the box next to the SRT file in the Burned In column. By selecting \u201cBurned In\u201d, this subtitle track will always be visible on the video and cannot be turned off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEP 7: Export the file<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Click \u201cAdd to Queue\u201d and press \u201cStart\u201d. This will generate a file with burned-in subtitles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
